Filippo Brunelleschi (*1377 Florenz; †1446 Florenz),
entdeckt mit Hilfe von Spiegeln die Linearperspektive.

Aufgrund seiner im Jahr 1410 perspektivisch gemalten Tafeln der Piazza S.
Giovanni und der Piazza della Signoria gilt er auch als Entdecker der
mathematisch konstruierbaren Perspektive und ihrer Gesetze.

Sein Hauptwerk ist die Kuppel des florentiner Doms Santa Maria del Fiore von
1418 bis 1436, die nicht nur in ihren Dimensionen das Pantheon in Rom
übertrifft, sondern auch die erste doppelschalige Kuppel ist.
